Why I Paint

I would have never guessed that randomly picking up a paint brush would turn into my continuous deliverance! I will forever be thankful for the God sent  vessels that pushed me towards my therapy of art. My first painting titled, What Happens Next Is Beautiful, carried a truth to it that I could have never imagined. I paint for the recognition of legacy, transparency and grace. From this first painting made in 2013, to my latest every stroke was purposeful.  Every stroke was made, because of God’s grace and my grandmother’s spirit. As I humbly look back at these short years I am filled with the overwhelming need to continue spreading her legacy of love. At this point in my life I picked up my first brush and began to paint abstract pieces, these pieces were soaked in my tears with deliverance hidden between abstract figures. I referred to these pieces at Brit Transparency paintings, giving it the name B.T. Paintings.  Shortly after she passed I begin to sell Garnzella Bags, of which every penny was and is still donated in her name. Donations are made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. But God wasn’t done!

My God equipped me with a paint brush as a sword. That paint brush turned into my therapy wrapped in God’s grace. My therapy turned into my gift wrapped in his mercy and my gift turned into my altruism wrapped in his deliverance.   Flash forward to today, as I now understand the importance of transparency ,I see the need to give it to the world. I’ve watched my life unfold in ways I could have never imagined. Though moments in my walk may have been painful, I know the power of pain now. I’ve learned that pain can be made purposeful through testimony. So I stand transparent and ready to help others in my emotionally similar shoes. Through art I was able to discover myself and tell my story, which in hand allowed others to release the wieght they may have been carrying.  With these paintings I hope to be able to spread my story and tell others stories through paint. I pray that my altruism can uplift and inspire others as much as it has myself.  Painting for others allows me to continue my grandmothers testimony of giving , truth and love. Painting for others allows me to encourage transparency, an act that can help others in their journey.  Perhaps most importantly painting continues to act as my grace, as each custom painting  allows me to contribute to the very act that grows my continuous spiritual  discernment.  For these reasons I am able to connect with my customer in a very unique way. By allowing me to paint your story, we are able to  help heal eachother and perhaps many more. Your story helps to acknowledge that their are many kindred souls out there , it ackowledges that we are not alone.

Incorporated in every bag and painting are grandmas last words to me, these words have given my comfort on many nights and I pray that they do the same to my customers. Thank you for listening, and in her last words,
YOURE BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE YOU!
